RoboJDE Lite and the fully licensed version of RoboJDE use the same executable. RoboJDE Lite is free but places limits on the size and complexity of the programs you can execute on your robotics controller. When you purchase an IntelliBrain robotics controller, a full RoboJDE license is included. If you use RoboJDE with a Handy Board or Sumo11 robotics controller, you can upgrade to the full version of RoboJDE by purchasing a license and installing a license key.

In order to use RoboJDE your PC and robotics controller will need to meet the following requirements.
PC Requirements
- Windows 2000/XP
- 50 Mbytes available disk space
- 128 Mbytes RAM
- RS232 serial port
